La Storia
La Baldi BB5 Frog era costruita dal carrozziere G.A.M.C. Baldi a San Remo con l’idea di realizzare una microcar che rappresentasse una soluzione ai problemi del traffico.
Lunga 215cm è più piccola di una Fiat 500 da cui deriva il pianale accorciato e la meccanica.
La carrozzeria veniva realizzata in fibra di vetro.
Condivideva con la Fiat 500 e con la 850 diversi particolari. Il lunotto posteriore era infatti il parabrezza della 500 montato al contrario e lo stesso per i finestrini laterali posteriori. I fanali posteriori erano quelli della 850 Fiat.
Veniva prodotta con tre motorizzazioni a partire dal 125cc della Innocenti Lambretta fino al 594cc della Fiat 500R.
Fu presentata al Salone di Parigi del 1973 e prodotta per due anni.
Risultano essere stati prodotti circa 300 esemplari.
La nostra Baldi Frog
Si tratta di un modello estremamente raro.
E’ stata completamente restaurata nel pieno rispetto dell’originalità dall’attuale proprietario.
La carrozzeria in vetroresina è stata totalmente riverniciata in modo professionale.
I fondi sono in ottimo stato.
La meccanica è stata revisionata e l’impianto frenante è stato rifatto con la sostituzione delle tubazioni.
Mota cerchi Borrani originali.
E’ dotata di Certificato di Rilevanza Storica e Collezionistica dell’ASI.
E’ divertente e facile da usare.
E’ spaziosa nonostante le dimensioni ridotte e luminosa, in particolare con la capote in tela aperta.
